In many rural villages across the world, safe drinking water is a scarce commodity. The Desire to Inspire Foundation plans to drill boreholes that will make clean water more readily available. Not only will the boreholes provide water for the villagers to drink, but also for them to wash their cuts and bruises with a much lower risk of infection and generate much needed income.
Teachers and administration in many communities are volunteer based with no salaries. In some places, there are no books, schools, or classrooms. We are currently helping to supplement teacher income to help them successfully teach and m additional academic opportunities for students who may not otherwise have such access.
According to UNICEF: in 2015, there were 214 million malaria cases that led to 438,000 deaths. Of these, about 80% were children under five years of age. Although malaria mortality rates have been steadily declining, it still presents a major global health risk. We are providing malaria screenings and medications to those infected; treating it early to prevent fatal health complications.
Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
